LWC is seeking 2 full-time Cooks for our Baker Creek inpatient facility. The Cooks are responsible for the preparation, serving, and storage of meals and for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen in the Baker Creek inpatient facility. This position offers a lot of creative freedom, within the bounds of DSHS nutrition requirements. Schedule will vary, but 1 weekend day and some holidays will be required as this is a 24/7 facility.

 

This position is benefits eligible (medical and dental benefits).

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/Trade School Diploma (or equivalent). Experience cooking large quantities (12+ servings) and knowledge of nutrition preferred. Ability to obtain a WA Food Handler’s Permit. One year of relevant housekeeping/janitorial experience and/or training. Ability to operate kitchen and housekeeping tools and equipment.  Ability to follow written and verbal instruction. Good organizational skills; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Ability to work cooperatively in a team approach. Requires frequent walking, standing, bending at the knees and waist, kneeling and reaching to accomplish tasks; Requires ability to lift and carry 50 pounds. Acceptable driving record and ability to be covered by LWC insurance carrier. Employment is contingent on successful fingerprint background check.
