PACT MHP

LWC is seeking a full-time Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) Mental Health Professional (MHP). The MHP is an exempt position part of the multidisciplinary PACT team who has training in one of the mental health professions (e.g. nursing, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology) and clinical skill and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses under the supervision of the Team Leader. MHP functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team and provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support services or may be designated by the team leader to function as the lead mental health professional, lead registered nurse, a team vocational specialist, or substance use specialist.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in the Behavioral Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, etc.) and experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Must be licensed or certified to work in the field, able to obtain Agency Affiliated License as defined in chapter 18.19 RCW and 246-810 WAC within 30 days of hire, able to meet the requirements of an MHP as defined by the WAC 388-865-0150, and abide by professional code of ethical and practice standards, and committed to a process of lifetime knowledge and skills development. Must have strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences and have access to helpful, adequate, competent and continuous supports and services. Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. Other skills: good organizational skills; good verbal, written communication skills, and computer skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; ability to work cooperatively in a team approach; ability to apply a recovery-based approach and to apply clinical knowledge; ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion; visual and auditory skills required to communicate, to ensure and deliver client care, and to provide legal documentation of care; requires frequent standing, bending at the knees and waist, kneeling and reaching; requires frequent walking to accomplish tasks; requires ability to lift 30 pounds. CDP or CDP-T eligible preferred, as well as individuals who are bi-lingual. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and ability to be covered by LWC insurance carrier required. Employment contingent on successful background check.
