Community Center and Recovery Beds
The HEART House also offers Recovery Beds and a Community Center. Both facilities are located at Lake Whatcom’s Sunset apartment complex. The Recovery Beds provide safe housing environment for up to eight individuals needing temporary placement. This stay does not interfere with other housing opportunities or waitlists and is ideal individuals recently out of treatment, inpatient facilities, incarceration, experiencing houselessness, struggling with roommates or any other housing issues, as they work toward their goal of finding safe and permanent housing in the community.
HEART House Community Center provides open hours to the entire community for individuals to have a safe environment to socialize, play games, participate in activities, create, and learn skills such as cooking, painting, etc. The Community Center is open three days a week and has all kinds of recreation including foosball, board games, puzzles, arts and crafts supplies, Wii for video games, Roku for movies and TV shows, magazines, and instruments for playing live music. This is also where community and holiday meals take place in hopes to continue to bring our community together.
