Therapy Program
Lake Whatcom Center's Therapy program is a supplemental service that supports individuals in gaining insight into their experience with their mental health. Therapy offers a collaborative approach that is client directed and grounded in evidence-based research interventions. The goal of treatment is for clients to deepen their understanding of themselves to gain insight into their individual experiences, develop skills for coping, and continue their path in recovery.
The therapy program is staffed by a team of qualified therapists who offer therapy on an individual and group basis in an environment that is empathic, objective, and free from judgment or shame. In addition, therapists work to build a relationship with their clients based on mutual trust and respect, ensuring a collaborative nature throughout treatment. LWC's therapists offer several treatment approaches (including CBT, DBT, EMDR, Trauma-Informed Care, and others).
The Therapy program incorporates systemic, behavioral, and problem-focused approaches to treatment to improve clients' strengths and empowers them to facilitate positive changes in their lives.
